The PS2 armored core games run at 60i, which means every 60th of a second, half of the frame is rendered. Another way that might feel better is using L1 for boosting, R1 for right arm firing, and leaving left arm weapon on the face buttons (circle or triangle) since for blades and shields you wouldn't need to hold it while moving anyway. This leaves you 元, R3, and 2 face buttons for the rest (EO/OB, look reset and purge combinations)įor Vita, it's a bit trickier and I haven't tried it myself, but you would aim for the same control scheme but with the touch screen sides for 元/R3 (OB/EO and extensions) and possibly use the touch pads and shoulder buttons for boosting/firing. Use R stick for movement, L stick for looking/turning, and then the shoulder buttons for firing weapons and boosting.

A more typical FPS setup (dual stick move+camera, shoulders for firing and boosting/evading) is better for that.įor PC, I would recommend mapping the D-pad to the second analog stick, and then mapping 2 of the symbol/face buttons to the L2/R2 buttons. The goal is to be be able to move, turn, boost, and fire at the same time, while also being able to do the rest (EO, Extensions) without compromising yourself too much. It depends on what you mean by "PS2 controls", since the default controls were customizable, and not the most intuitive to start with (early games had shoulder buttons for strafing with face buttons for firing/boosting, etc.) In general, the issues exclusive to PSP are eliminated when switching to Vita or PC, and the ability to do online without a third party program or another console far outweighs the rest. I have not heard of the issue with AC3 PSP having dropped inputs, but I haven't played it either beyond confirming that it works on PC. There's never been a 60 fps armored core game. The PSP lockbox is unaffected by FCS size (also false, lock-on dynamics are identical to the PS2 games with max/avg capture.) Dual analog is supported, there just isn't a second analog stick on the PSP)
ARMORED CORE PSP BEST PC
The PSP game does not support dual analog at all (False, Any remapping to analog sticks on PC or Vita will support 8-directions. Lock boxes are slightly smaller in the PSP games (possibly only when using special weapons) Vita and PC both allow dual analog and R2/L2. PSP versions use the PSP's controls meaning no second analog or R2/L2 buttons if you play on PSP. (PS2 was LAN only, or PS2 to computer via Kai.) PSP versions have built-in ad-hoc online multiplayer. PSP versions contain 5 new Arena enemies and a few new maps.

But blatant Gen-Bashing (" sucks and is bad because it's bad!") accomplishes literally nothing but reigniting decade-old flame wars that are better left buried. It's okay to not like a game, or a couple games. But civilized arguments are a thing, so make sure you keep them as such.
